Looking for RPG developers for a multi-year initiative to modernise and enhance business critical applications. 
 
Hybrid – 1-2 days in office.
 
Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance RPG-based applications on the IBM i (AS400) platform.
• Write and optimize RPG IV, RPG Free, CL, and SQL programs.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
• Perform code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning of existing applications.
• Work with DB2 for i (AS400 database), including writing complex queries and stored procedures.
• Develop and maintain APIs and web services to integrate with modern applications.
• Support legacy RPG programs while modernizing applications to align with new business needs.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of business logic.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues, job failures, and security concerns.
• Document technical designs, development processes, and best practices.

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in IBM iSeries development using RPG IV, RPG Free, CL, and SQL.
• Strong experience with DB2 for i and database optimization.
• Proficiency in IBM iSeries tools such as SEU, RDi, PDM, Query/400, and SDA.
• Experience in modernizing RPG applications, including ILE, service programs, and modular programming.
• Understanding of AS400 job scheduling, message handling, and system utilities.
• Experience integrating IBM i applications with modern web services, APIs, and middleware.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, Agile environment.
