Are you passionate about cyber security and looking to make a real difference? Our client is on the lookout for a talented Cyber Security Engineer to help protect their digital infrastructure and ensure the safety of critical data. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of building and securing network solutions, identifying and mitigating threats, and ensuring everything is running smoothly in the ever-evolving world of cyber security.
You’ll work with a forward-thinking team, designing secure systems for both cloud and on-prem environments, while focusing on proactive monitoring, incident response, and compliance. If you’re excited about tackling complex challenges and working with the latest technologies, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing and implementing security architectures that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.
- Monitoring for potential threats, analysing intrusion attempts, and developing strategies to prevent security incidents before they occur.
- Refining and managing incident response processes, making sure everything runs efficiently when an issue arises.
- Reviewing code to spot vulnerabilities and ensuring that applications are built with security in mind from the start.
- Implementing and managing the latest security tools to protect systems and applications across the organisation.
- Ensuring compliance with industry security standards and regulations.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 3 years of experience in Cyber Security, with a solid understanding of security engineering and cyber risks.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks such as ACSC ISM, ISO27001/2, NIST 800-53, and NIST CSF.
- Experience assessing and implementing new technologies with a focus on managing security risks.
- Comfort working in both Windows and Linux environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- An eye for detail, with a knack for spotting areas where things can be improved.
- Ideally, you’ll have an IRAP (Information Security Registered Assessor Program) qualification.
- Experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms, including cloud security tools.
- Skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible, Azure ARM, Bicep, and AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience with security monitoring tools like Azure Security Centre, AWS Security Hub, and familiarity with cloud security monitoring techniques.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Containerization, and cloud-based architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Proficiency in tools like PowerShell, Python, Terraform, and others.
What We Value in You:
- Self-Starter: You bring energy and initiative to everything you do and are eager to learn and grow.
- Great Communicator: You can explain complex ideas in a way that makes sense to others and are always open to feedback.
- Problem-Solver: You think critically and creatively to solve security challenges.
- Team Player: You thrive in collaborative environments, working together with diverse teams to achieve shared goals.
- Time Management: You know how to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
Working with Us:
- Right to Work: Applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen with a valid passport.
- Pre-Employment Checks: National Police Check, Baseline Security Clearance, and 2 x Reference Checks.
- Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, with most work being on-site (work from home is possible in certain situations).
