This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Communications Advisor to join our client’s team for a 3 year long contract. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication plans, overseeing stakeholder engagement initiatives, and maintaining a positive relationship between the project and the public. Your expertise will guide the strategic direction of communications and ensure effective dissemination of information to various audiences.
You must have more than five years’ experience in a communications and community engagement role, preferably within infrastructure, construction, or government sectors.
Accountabilities include:
– Develop and executive a strategic communications plan to support the infrastructure project’s objective and milestones.
– Craft clear and compelling messaging for various platforms, such as media releases, social media, newsletters and project updates.
– Coordinate with project managers, government bodies, and contractors to ensure accurate and timely communication of project developments.
– Prepare briefing materials, speeches, and presentations for senior management and other stakeholders.
– Monitor and analyse media coverage, public opinion, and industry trends to inform communication strategies.
– Manage crisis communications and issues resolution, providing swift and appropriate responses to mitigate potential negative impacts on the project and department’s reputation.
– Provide expert advice and support to senior leadership on communication and community engagement matters.
– Evaluate the effectiveness of communication activities and report on community engagement outcomes.
– Ensure all communication activities comply with legal, ethical and organisational standards.
Ideally you will have:
– A current Class ‘C’ Drivers Licence
– A degree in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing would be highly desirable.
– Proven track record of developing and delivering successful communication and engagement strategies.
– Exceptional writing, editing and presentation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
– Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
– Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience managing stakeholders at all levels.
