About the role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Specialist Business Analyst with prior experience in the insurance or financial services industry to partner with multiple cross functional business areas to clearly understand and align the business requirements needed to achieve the intended outcome of the initiative. Your role will involve building relationships, communicating clearly, working with ambiguity, collaborating, constructively challenging, negotiating and influencing with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
You will:

  • Define a business analysis approach suitable to the area of work, and for timelines to be met, proactively drive towards the timelines, and escalate when this cannot be achieved and provide clear work breakdown including logical classification, categorization, and sequencing.
  • Create a Business Analysis plan aligned to the delivery timelines, with a clear articulation of requirement / scope categories and breakdown into logical epics / stories.
  • Investigate, understand, and define the problem/opportunity/need and objectives to be achieved.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure business needs are translated into actionable requirements and prioritised effectively.
  • Refine and clarify ambiguous business requirements by conducting workshops and stakeholder discussions and convert to actionable requirements fit for development.
  • Produce quality requirements documentation that meets the needs of the project phase and target audience, and adheres to applicable standards, guidelines, and frameworks.
  • Communicate requirements, not solutions – provide clarity and understanding of the business needs and objectives to be achieved so that the design and development teams can find efficient and effective solutions that unlock and maximize the value of the platforms we have chosen whilst minimizing customization and cost.

  
Required Skills/Experience:

  • Business analysis experience (e.g. 5 years+) on a diverse range of projects e.g. business transformation, application development, process re-design
  • Demonstrated experience undertaking business analysis with large groups of multiple cross functional business areas on large scale programs of work via multiple mediums across multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated experience undertaking business process analysis and design to inform and enable quality project outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience of a Business Partnering mindset and a team player with good business relationship, influencing and collaboration skills
  • Certified Agile/Scrum qualifications
  • Certified Business Analyst
  • Business Process Modelling and Notation (BPMN) qualification
  • Commercial insurance knowledge and experience is an advantage
